Za'atar is a traditional Middle Eastern condiment that includes a blend of dried thyme, oregano, sumac, toasted sesame seeds and salt.

Za’artar is commonly used on breads (flatbread, pita, naan) with olive or avocado oil. You can sprinkle Za'atar on chicken before you bake or grill it and on a grilled steak it is heavenly. On seafood like salmon or hapuka it is so much better than plain lemon juice giving great flavour.  Za'atar can also be sprinkled on dips like hummus before serving and try sprinkling it on sour cream on top of a baked potato.
